One of the latest additions to Dr Rose Club, CMSlim is the most advanced non-invasive body contouring system available. CMSlim uses HI-EMT (high-intensity electromagnetic muscle training) to safely and effectively contour areas of the body including the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, calves and upper arms, increasing muscle and burning fat. You simply sit back and relax while the device painlessly induces up to 30,000 muscle contractions.

HI-EMT is the medical technology that is used in aesthetic medicine, urology and gynaecology. Focused electromagnetic fields with safe intensity levels stimulate motor neurons, triggering muscle contractions. The effect of these sustained, intensive muscle contractions is twofold: increased muscular tone, strength and endurance, and the breakdown of fat deposits through the release of fatty acids and subsequent fat cell apoptosis (disintegration).

Before treatment, Dr Rose selects the most appropriate workout program depending on your own personal goals. During a treatment session, two applicators are placed on the target area. The focused electromagnetic fields generated force the muscles to remain in a contracted state for multiple seconds. After treatment (exactly as after a workout) your body repairs and replaces damaged muscle fibres, resulting in stronger, firmer muscles.

Recent studies on patients treated with a HI-EMT device on their abdomens have reported an average 16–18% increase in abdominal muscle thickness one to two months after treatment, and 19–21% reduction in the subcutaneous fat layer.

I just wanted to let you know how delighted I am with the results so far – so glad I found you!

Questions and answers

What is CMSlim?

CMSlim is an advanced HI-EMT (high-intensity electromagnetic muscle training) device. It applies focused electro-magnetic fields to targeted muscle groups, triggering sustained muscle contractions which, over a course of treatment, result in toning and strengthening of muscles and reduction in fat deposits.

What happens during CMSlim treatment?

Dr Rose secures the two applicators to the target area. You lie back and relax while the electro-magnetic fields cause a series of contractions in the targeted muscle groups. Intensity of treatment is gradually increased during the session, within your comfort level. If you feel any discomfort, the intensity of stimulation is decreased accordingly. For most patients, Dr Rose recommends a course of four to six treatments, taking place two or three times a week; the treatment course typically lasts ten to fourteen days. Top-up treatments can be used as required, and will be discussed during consultation.

Is any downtime required after treatment?

No downtime is needed following treatment. You may wish to refrain from further exercise on the day of treatment, to allow your muscles to recover after their intense workout.

How long does the treatment take?

Each treatment session takes thirty minutes.

Is it painful?

Treatment is non-painful; any discomfort is rapidly alleviated by reducing the intensity of the stimulation. You will experience some muscle fatigue after treatment and, as your muscles repair and renew in the few days post-treatment, you may feel similar soreness as after a high-intensity workout.

When will I see results and how long do the results last?

Most patients notice results within two to four weeks. How long the results last depends on your lifestyle. Top-up treatments can be used as required, and will be discussed during your consultation.

Is the treatment safe? What are the potential side effects?

Treatment with CMSlim is completely non-invasive and extremely safe, with no significant side effects.

Are there any conditions that could make me unsuitable for treatment?

Patients with the following conditions cannot undergo treatment with CMSlim: cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, implanted neurostimulators, electronic implants, metal implants, drug pumps, epilepsy, haemorrhagic conditions, anticoagulation therapy, heart disorders, malignant tumours, fever, sensitivity or allergy to latex, and recent surgical procedures (muscle contraction may disrupt healing in the treatment area). Pregnant women cannot undergo treatment; treatment can begin six weeks post-partum. Areas which lack normal sensation cannot be treated, and the abdominal muscles cannot be treated during menstruation.
