What is Profhilo®?
Profhilo® is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from natural hyaluronic acid.
What happens during Profhilo® treatment?
Profhilo® is administered via a series of tiny injections using an ultra-fine needle or fine cannula. It flows through the treated area and distributes itself evenly, where it not only boosts and hydrates the tissue, but also stimulates the skin’s natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, treating certain types of wrinkles from within by ‘bio-remodelling’: lifting, tightening and increasing the elasticity of the skin.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatment with Profhilo® typically takes around 30 minutes. To achieve optimum results, treatment is repeated after four weeks.
Is it painful?
Because Profhilo® flows through the treated areas, distributing itself evenly and without resistance, any discomfort during treatment is minimal. Usually a layer of LMX4 fast-acting local anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment, further minimising discomfort.
When will I see results?
Results are typically seen after around four weeks; your own results may vary.
How long does Profhilo® last?
The effects of Profhilo® last for up to six months. Top-up treatments can be administered to maintain the effects.
Is Profhilo® safe? What are the potential side effects?
Although any procedure carries small risks, Profhilo® treatment is extremely safe in skilled hands. Profhilo® is a pure form of what your body produces naturally, so there is no risk of rejection. Some patients experience mild redness, irritation, tenderness, discolouration or bruising at the injection sites, but these fade quickly.
